Life Transitions
Change is hard, even when you chose it.
Change — even change you wanted — can leave you feeling unmoored. When the life you're stepping into doesn't quite feel like yours yet, when the familiar has fallen away and the new hasn't taken shape, counselling can help you find solid ground again. You're not lost — you're in between.
You don’t need to
explain yourself here.
-
You've made a change you chose — and you're surprised by how hard it still feels
-
You know what your life used to look like, but you're not sure what you want it to look like now
-
Your life looks fine from the outside, but something fundamental has shifted and you feel unsettled
-
A change happened to you that you didn't choose, and you're not sure who you are on the other side of it
-
You feel pressure to 'land well' and be grateful — which makes it harder to admit you're struggling
-
You’re grieving a version of your life or yourself that no longer exists
Finding yourself on the other side of change.
Life transitions — whether chosen or unchosen — almost always involve a quiet identity shift alongside the practical changes. The person you were in your old job, old relationship, old life doesn't always slot neatly into the new one. In counselling, we take time to acknowledge that in-between feeling, rather than rushing past it.
Together, we'll explore what you're leaving behind and what you're stepping into — including the parts that feel uncertain or frightening. We'll work on understanding what matters most to you now, and use that as a compass for navigating what comes next.
Transitions don't have a fixed endpoint. Some of our best work happens in the space between what was and what will be.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Helping you stay connected to your values even when circumstances are shifting — and make choices that reflect what actually matters to you.
Mindfulness-based approaches
Building the capacity to tolerate uncertainty and sit with the discomfort of not yet knowing, without it becoming overwhelming.
Narrative Therapy
Exploring the story of who you've been, who you're becoming, and what this transition means in the larger context of your life.
Sessions that feel genuinely different.
-
Room for the complexity
Transitions are rarely all good or all hard. Sessions hold space for the grief, the relief, the excitement, and the fear — sometimes all at once.
-
A compass for what's next
As things become clearer, we'll work on understanding what you want your life to look like from here — and the small steps that move you toward it.
-
Your pace, always
There's no timeline to follow and no expectation of where you'll be by session three. We work at whatever pace feels right — and you're in the driver's seat throughout.
Change is easier when you don't have to navigate it alone.
If you're in the middle of something shifting and you're not sure where to put it, the free 15-minute consultation is a good place to start. No referral needed — just a conversation.
